Part-Time Medical Receptionist
25 hours per week minimum with additional relief cover as required
Monday to Friday, 10am to 3pm
Salary £18853 - £21446 (pro rata) depending on experience
Applicants with good IT skills, a good telephone manner and experience of dealing with the public are required to join our friendly office team at Alford Medical Practice. Past NHS experience is desirable but not necessary as training will be given.
A high level of accuracy and good keyboard skills are essential due to the nature of work as is the ability to multi-task. Strong IT skills (ability to use Microsoft applications including Teams, Word, Excel, etc), confidentiality, reliability and attention to detail are also required to succeed in this role, along with a friendly and helpful manner.
Examples of some of the duties involved in this role include:
• Welcoming patients to the surgery, following the latest Covid guidelines
• Processing e-Consults and telephone requests for appointments, prescriptions, test results etc
• Registering new patients and updating patient records
• Scanning documents into patients’ electronic records
• General admin duties including answering queries via telephone/email, filing, processing mail, photocopying, conveying messages etc
• Awareness of the need for confidentiality
Candidates must be flexible as relief cover is necessary and the ability to provide cover is essential.
