Accountable to the Site Director for the strategic leadership & operational delivery of Acute Services within Medicine at the RIE Site, ensuring safe delivery of patient care and services in accordance with NHS Lothian agreed corporate objectives. This includes focusing on delivery of unscheduled care and working to established waiting times and treatment time goals.
Support the achievement of NHS Lothian targets and objectives by developing key relationships to enable collaborative working with internal and external partners, ensuring a cohesive approach to patient care and then appropriate and timely discharge.
Contribute to the Senior Management Team on the RIE site providing leadership and visibility and supporting the planned and unplanned workflows associated with running an Acute Hospital.
Acts as the deputy Site Director in all aspects of Unscheduled Care, leading discussions and decision making at director level.
