Applications are invited from suitably experienced and qualified Clinical Technologists and Engineers for the post of Head of the Electromedical Equipment Service in the Department of Medical Physics and Bio-Engineering at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness.

The appointee, supported by the section's Clinical Engineers, Technologists and Administrative staff, will be responsible for providing a comprehensive electromedical equipment service to the hospitals and clinics in the NHS Highland health board area.

The post, which is available due to retirement, requires an honours degree in an appropriate engineering or physics discipline and extensive broad and specialist senior experience in medical equipment management. Alternatively, candidates with extensive, relevant experience of managing medical equipment in the NHS, supported by a proven track record of managing services, staff and budgets at a senior level will also be considered.

Professional and strategic leadership are a significant part of the post so highly developed communications, management and influencing skills will be needed alongside technical and financial skills; evidence of staff management and leadership, service development, teaching, training and project management is essential. Candidates must hold a full UK driving licence.
