An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Charge Nurse within Esteem- First episode psychosis service.  You will have the responsibility for the management of both your own community caseload and the management and supervision of the caseloads of trained nursing staff within your designated nursing team.  You will have responsibility for the clinical leadership and management of your designated nursing team.  You will provide a comprehensive, specialist nursing service for clients with a diagnosis of First Episode Psychosis within the NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde area.  You will take a lead role in promoting partnership working within the mental health network, both internally and externally.  You will be responsible for the assessment, care planning, review and discharge of individual caseload, management of a caseload or client group within a defined clinical area and carry out regular reviews of the nursing team caseload within sphere of responsibility.  You will liaise with and act upon referrals from GPs, other primary care workers, consultants, and other statutory bodies.  The post holder will be responsible for the management and provision of an Early Intervention service for First Episode Psychosis that aims to promote a vision of recovery as indicated by:-maximising levels of engagement, maximising contact with families and carers, minimising psychotic symptoms, clients spending less time in hospital with less use of the mental health act, fewer incidents of self-harm, increased user and carer satisfaction, increased number and range of interventions, improved social functioning all of which aim to reduce stigma and engage service users in retaining access to the ordinary activities of their lives.  It is essential that you are currently a Registered Mental Health Nurse and have the relevant post registration nursing experience. This is a 37.5 hours per week post, worked predominantly between Monday and Friday 9-5.
