Substantive Post   

Part time 15 hours per week

Band 3 - Salary Range £21,709 - £23,603 per annum pro-rata plus

Distant Island Allowance of £1,971 per annum (pro rata)


You will work as part of a team, providing sterile supplies, sterilised equipment and sundries to Shetland’s hospitals and community service practitioners.


Educated to standard grade level, with good IT skills, you should have good interpersonal skills, the ability to work well both within a team and on your own initiative, without direct supervision.  Previous experience within a health care setting and a good understanding of infection prevention and control procedures are desirable.  There is an on-call commitment for this post.


You will be expected to comply with the Induction Standards and Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers within 3 months of commencing your role – details can be viewed on http://www.hcswtoolkit.nes.scot.nhs.uk/resources/hcsw-standards-and-codes/


You will initially be paid at Band 2 (£19,609 - £21,615 per annum pro rata) whilst undergoing training, rising to Band 3 upon successful completion.
