Established as a Special Health Board, NHS Education for Scotland is the provider of leading-edge specialist learning, education and skills development for all health service employees in Scotland. These General Practice Fellowships are for one year, from August 2022. Doctors from overseas wishing to be considered for these fellowships will need to achieve an overall score of 7.5 out of 9 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test.
You must have completed your General Practice Specialty Training within the last 5 years prior to taking up post.
Medical Education Fellowships in General Practice - 3 x 0.5wte posts
Closing date: 7th April 2022
Salary will be £30,321 pa. Any 2022/23 salary uplift will be applied.
Interviews will be held by MS Teams from 16th May 2022
The Medical Education Fellowships are designed for doctors who have reasonably recently completed their General Practice Specialty Training and have an interest in medical education. The part time nature of the posts will allow you time to continue to develop generalist skills in the context of service general practice (eg through a locum appointment) while undertaking a tailored programme of exposure and training in relation to medical education. This will involve being attached to the regional NES Postgraduate GP unit with opportunities to become involved with teaching, educational developments, quality assurance initiatives and evaluation/research. Individuals will be encouraged to start a postgraduate qualification relevant to medical education. Three one-year posts (0.5 wte) are available from August 2022, one in each of East of Scotland, South East of Scotland and West of Scotland regions.
