Various contracts available for full time and part time work. Excellent opportunity for secondment.
Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in NHS Lothian are currently embarking upon a service redesign supported by £4.1 million of additional investment. This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic and forward-thinking Clinical Pharmacist who wishes to contribute to our vision of getting it right for every child and young person with a mental health problem.
We are looking for Clinical Pharmacists who are currently undertaking, or have completed postgraduate non-medical prescribing training, and are or expect to be eligible for annotation as a non-medical prescriber on the General Pharmaceutical Council register
These are newly developed posts that will sit primarily within or locality outpatient teams (North and South Edinburgh, West Lothian, East Lothian and Midlothian) though on appointment your job plan will include provision of clinical pharmacy consultation and advice to an identified portfolio of specialist outpatient and Tier 4 teams.
You will join a new team of clinical pharmacists who have recently been recruited to the service. This is an excellent opportunity for forward thinking candidates who want to take part in the development of a new service from the beginning – helping to shape the role and the contribution of professional clinical pharmacy in CAMHS.
As a prescribing pharmacist, you will use your expertise and clinical knowledge to take responsibility for a caseload of children and young people who have an established diagnosis and treatment plan formulated by the wider multidisciplinary team. As a case holder you will be competent to undertake physical monitoring, review of treatment effectiveness and side effect monitoring.
For an informal discussion please contact our CAMHS Clinical Services Manager lisa.canale@nhslothian.scot.nhs.uk or marianne.van-de-lisle@nhslothian.scot.nhs.uk Lead Pharmacist at the Royal Edinburgh Hospital.
