OBSTETRICS AND GYNAECOLOGYSPECIALTY TRAINEE
SCOTTISH SUBSPECIALTY TRAINING POST IN MATERNAL AND FETAL MEDICINE
Applications are invited for the above post which offers subspecialist training in Maternal and Fetal Medicine. The clinical training is for a fixed period of 2 years and is based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow and the Simpson Centre for Reproductive Health, Edinburgh.
Applicants must currently be in a specialty training post, hold a National Training Number (NTN), and have completed 5 years in a Specialty Training programme. They should possess the MRCOG or equivalent. Applicants for a two year training programme should have completed at least one year of relevant research training that has led either to a higher degree (MD/PhD) or a number of significant peer reviewed publications as stipulated by the RCOG sub-speciality committee. There is the opportunity for suitable applicants who currently do not have the necessary research experience to undergo a three year training programme with a supervised year of research in Edinburgh.
Applicants from out-with the South East or West of Scotland must have the agreement of their Postgraduate Dean to retain their original training number and to return to their original Deanery at the end of the 2 year training programme.
The Postgraduate Dean confirms that this programme has the required educational and Postgraduate Dean's approval.
