This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. The purpose of this post:

  • To undertake the role of the specialist Organ Perfusion and Preservation Practitioner, utilising specialist clinical knowledge to inform decision making and clinical judgment. To provide specialist technical assistance as a member of the transplant and retrieval multidisciplinary team in relation to the management of novel perfusion and preservation technologies.
  • Provide specialist advice on novel technologies to healthcare professionals including Clinicians, Management, Support Services, Education Staff, Health & Safety and Risk Management and other agencies.
  • Support the development of the service to improve practice and work collaboratively across healthcare boundaries, implementing and evaluating evidence based standards, guidelines and policies.
