This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
The purpose of this post:
- To undertake the role of the specialist Organ Perfusion and Preservation Practitioner, utilising specialist clinical knowledge to inform decision making and clinical judgment. To provide specialist technical assistance as a member of the transplant and retrieval multidisciplinary team in relation to the management of novel perfusion and preservation technologies.
- Provide specialist advice on novel technologies to healthcare professionals including Clinicians, Management, Support Services, Education Staff, Health & Safety and Risk Management and other agencies.
- Support the development of the service to improve practice and work collaboratively across healthcare boundaries, implementing and evaluating evidence based standards, guidelines and policies.
