Specialist Learning Disability Services provide assessment/treatment inpatient services to people with a learning disability who experience mental ill health and or associated challenging behaviour / complex needs. The role will support people to maintain health and valued roles by way of specialist therapeutic interventions. To provide evidence based, high quality nursing care working within a Multi-disciplinary framework, working with people with learning disabilities who may present with mental health problems, challenging behaviour and/or additional complex needs including development of individual positive behavioural support plans. Have direct responsibility as a Named or Associate Nurse for a defined client group, facilitating assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation of care and discharge. The role will also include taking charge of the ward or any equivalent sphere of nursing in the absence of the Senior Charge Nurse/Charge Nurse. Carrying out these responsibilities professionally and compassionately with minimal supervision. Previous experience working with people who have Learning Disabilities and Mental Health Issues is essential
RNLD or RMN Essential.
