A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced occupational therapist with a proven track record of working in mental health services. The successful post holder will be dynamic and innovative with the leadership skills to lead, support and develop a team that demonstrates the value of occupational therapy within the multi-disciplinary team context using evidence based practice.  The Lead Occupational Therapist is responsible both operationally and professionally for a team of occupational therapy staff working across community and inpatient older adult mental health services within West Dunbartonshire HSCP. The post holder is line managed by the Integrated Operations Manager but is required to have strong working relationships with a range of managers, team leaders and professional leads involved with service provision.  The post holder will report professionally to the Care Group Lead OT for mental health.   The post holder will be an experienced occupational therapist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and hold a Degree in Occupational Therapy. They will be expected to have substantial experience of working as an OT within mental health and be able to evidence continuing professional development in relation to their clinical and leadership competencies. The post holder will have excellent communication skills, possess decision making and problem solving skills to a high level, be an expert clinician and have an understanding of relevant strategy and its relevance to local service delivery
