Trainee Vascular Sonographer
A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated radiographer to join our neurovascular ultrasound service.
This is a Band 6 training post. On successful completion of your training, you will be required to apply for a vacant Band 7 sonographer post.
You will work alongside consultant neuroradiologists and support the stroke service in leading and developing the neurovascular ultrasound service.
While the primary role will be to provide neurovascular ultrasound (carotid and transcranial doppler), you will also perform neck imaging and ultrasound guided neck aspirations.
Full training will be provided. At the end of the training you will be required to obtain a minimum of a PG Certificate in Neurovascular Ultrasound.
The post will be based In the Department of Clinical Neurosciences however, you may be required to support the neurovascular service on occasion at the Western General and St John’s Hospitals.
The department provides training to undergraduate students, medical staff and other health professionals. CPD is actively encouraged.
The post will suit a highly motivated radiographer wishing to become part of a multidisciplinary team.
