The main objective of the MDT co-ordinator is to facilitate a clinically-appropriate and timely pathway for cancer / suspected cancer patients. The post-holder is responsible for the efficient running of multidisciplinary team meetings for specialty and ensuring patients progress through pathway in timely manner. This involves organising the meetings, ensuring the necessary documentation is available to allow appropriate treatment decision-making, recording the outcome and decisions made at the meetings and co-ordinating the patient pathway. Post is based within GGC.
Minimum Requirements
Essential
- A further qualification in administration or equivalent experience.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office systems
- Excellent keyboard skills
- Extensive knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of cancer pathways and terminology
- Ability to work flexibly and on own initiative
Desirable
- Knowledge/experience of information systems used within GG&C
- Experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams
