Pharmacy Services North Sector Based in Glasgow Royal Infirmary

PHARMACY TECHNICIAN TEAM LEAD
37.5 hours per week -  Permanent

Glasgow Royal Infirmary is a large acute teaching hospital and home to major specialist services such as National Burns & Plastics Centre; Cardiology, Gynecology, Critical Care and Princess Royal Maternity Hospital.  It has a capacity of around 1000 beds spread over a large campus situated on the outskirts of Glasgow City Centre. GRI sits under the North Sector Pharmacy Management Team; other sites include; Stobhill ACH, Gartnavel General, Beatson and Vale of Leven.

We are looking for a suitably qualified, highly motivated and proactive registered Pharmacy Technician to join the senior management team within the North Sector where you will contribute to the operational management, planning, co-ordination, assessment and delivery of clinical pharmacy services.

Our pharmacy team are valued members of the wider multidisciplinary teams where we work collaboratively and compassionately with all services and service users to provide integrated, high quality, person centered pharmacy care and services to all.

You must be confident to work independently and as part of a team interchangeably. You will have excellent communication, organisational and time management skills as you will provide day to day leadership and support for our large and friendly pharmacy team. This post is an excellent opportunity for individuals wanting to develop their skills in leadership and management as we encourage and support staff development via local and national training programs and appraisals as well as providing you with opportunities to use your own initiative to promote CPD.

This position will support your personal development and provide you with the opportunity to facilitate the innovation of clinical pharmacy services in line with the pharmacy strategy and vision. You will work with a team who strive to develop hospital pharmacy services using quality improvement methodology to demonstrate service improvement.

Applicants must be registered with The General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and have an accredited dispensary checking technician qualification (PDCT)

You will have a minimum of 4 years post-qualification experience and a broad understanding of a range of technical practice and staff management. This can be experience of managing junior members of staff (e.g. as a deputy)

You must be able to demonstrate an ability to lead and motivate a team. You must have good IT skills, an HNC in pharmacy services or equivalent management qualification and a practicing SVQ work based assessor would be preferred.

Your hours will be worked Monday to Friday with participation in weekend working, extended hours service and public holiday working.
