Job Advert
The NHS GGC Employability Team, in partnership with Clyde Gateway, has an exciting opportunity for someone to join our team in support of our Widening Access to Employment Strategy through the Clyde Gateway Jobs in Health project.
The Community Employability Officer will work on a number of work steams with a focus on supporting local residents within the Clyde Gateway area to make successful applications to join the NHS GGC workforce. The postholder will develop and implement a programme of enhanced community and stakeholder engagement activity to promote NHS job opportunities and pathways into these, develop and oversee new initiatives to support Clyde Gateway residents into NHS GGC employment and to develop the capacity of community based groups to support local residents with NHS relevant employability interventions.
The duties will be varied, stimulating and rewarding and will involve activity working out in the community and across a broad range of NHS GGC services. It requires someone with a genuine interest in opening up NHS careers to those who may not have considered the NHS as a career destination, or who may be facing barriers to employment. The role also requires someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, an ability to work effectively with a range of partner organisations whose behaviours and attitudes reflect NHS values and a genuine passion for widening access to the NHS workforce.
Applicants should be educated to degree level or have demonstrable equivalent experience in employability and/ or NHS experience. It is also important that you have knowledge and experience of NHS recruitment practices, an insight into NHS career pathways and workforce skills demands.
Applicants should be aware that interviews are scheduled to take place on Monday 25th April 2022 and that this post is full time and fixed term for 2 years.
