Job Advert
Location: NHS Grampian Wheelchair Service, Woodend Hospital, Aberdeen
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join the Wheelchair Service team as Workshop Supervisor.
The NHS Grampian Wheelchair Service is based in Aberdeen and supports the wheelchair and special seating needs of around 8000 adult and paediatric service users in Aberdeenshire, Moray, Orkney and Shetland. The service has recently seen significant change due to retirement of key personnel so this role is an opportunity to build and shape the future of a specialist team and the service it provides.
The successful applicant will be self-motivated with the ability to work on their own initiative and within the multidisciplinary team of clinicians, technicians and administrative staff. Experience of working with wheelchairs or medical devices is desirable but not essential. The post requires technical expertise of electro-mechanical systems, and the ability to coordinate multiple activities, supervise a team of technicians and provide support and advice to the multidisciplinary team.
You will require excellent organisational and time management skills, possess a high standard of interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. The department is a busy and challenging place to work, but you will be supported by an enthusiastic and passionate group of people.
The region offers fantastic opportunities for outdoor leisure activities including coastal and mountain based pursuits.
Interviews are currently scheduled for Wednesday 18th May 2022
