The core purpose of the Digital & Security organisation is the provision of world class Digital and Security expertise, solutions and services to our customers, which include NSS, NHS Boards, Scottish Government and the wider Public Sector in Scotland.
A critical role in ensuring delivery of suitable, safe and effective solutions and services is the Consultant Clinical Safety Engineer (Consultant CSE) position. As a Consultant CSE you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and functionally manage a number of ad-hoc short-life teams created for the purpose of clinical safety assessment and assurance. You will be ensuring that overall Technology architecture / solutions comply with the developing standards-based approach to clinical safety being adopted in NHS Scotland.
You will be a key player in the development of the National Clinical Safety Assurance service in partnership with the wider National Clinical Informatics team ensuring a consistent and professional approach. The post holder has an SBU-wide role and is required to engage with all business areas in the SBU in all aspects of clinical safety and related quality improvement.
Applications are invited from individuals who have extensive digital experience in a technical discipline who are both operationally minded to drive improvements and are committed to deliver a ‘safety first’ culture in technology implementation. Knowledge of Clinical risk management is desirable, however training in this area will be provided.
