Procurement, Commissioning & Facilities (PCF) is the Strategic Business Unit (SBU) established from 3 former Divisions within National Services Scotland (NSS) - National Services Division, Health Facilities Scotland and National Procurement.
The National Specialist and Screening Directorate of PCF plans, funds and co-ordinates national specialist and screening services on behalf of NHS Boards and the Scottish Government Health and Social Care Directorates.
This is an exciting, dynamic and challenging post – providing senior leadership to the implementation of the NSD Strategic and Community networks and senior planning and development leadership to nationally designated services. You will lead a commissioning team; planning and driving the implementation of the new bespoke networks; and providing leadership, direction, and performance management of these Networks. You will provide senior leadership to the planning and development of highly specialist services, screening and networks in NHS Scotland, supporting the Specialist and Screening Directorate to meet Health & Social Care Delivery Plan requirements and leading major service change across NHS Scotland
This is a critical senior position which plays a leading role in the implementation of key Scottish Government strategies and in the delivery of national specialist services. You will work with NHS Board colleagues, Scottish Government Health and Social Care Directorates, and health professionals across Scotland to ensure that high quality and effective services are provided to residents of Scotland.
You should be educated to masters level, should have a proven track record of NHS managerial and planning experience at a senior level. The post will require excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills. Experience of planning at a strategic level is essential, as is the requirement for proven negotiation skills and change management experience. Candidates should be highly motivated with a desire to work in a multi disciplinary team.
This post is based in Edinburgh or Glasgow, with a requirement to travel throughout Scotland and some UK travel on occasion. A pool car is available for business use and a current driving license is required.
