The post:
As a vital part of NHS Scotland, NHS National Services Scotland’s mission is to enable and support the delivery of better health and better care, working in partnership.  We do this by providing a range of specialised support services that enable NHS Boards to focus their efforts on delivering health improvement and patient care.
The Finance Department provides a comprehensive range of accounting and reporting services to all NSS divisions.  The Payroll Section provides an extensive Payroll service to the whole of NSS, Public Health Scotland, NHS Healthcare Improvement Scotland and NHS National Education for Scotland. 

The candidate:
Previous payroll experience, preferably within the NHS, is desirable for this role however consideration will be given to applicants who can display significant technical expertise in MS Office packages, particularly Excel. You will use your communication skills to deal with customers by telephone, e-mail and letter and must be able to work to tight deadlines. You will have good keyboard skills and, ideally, have knowledge of customer service, payroll or finance packages.

Location and working pattern:
Based at Gyle Square, Edinburgh, you will be responsible for processing a series of payrolls for NSS and its third party customers, in accordance with strict deadlines, ensuring accurate payments are made to the employees and that a customer focus is maintained at all times.
