£61,325 - £66,018 per annum (AfC Band 8b)

Although offered on a Full-time (37.5 hrs/week) basis, applications are welcome from individuals who may wish to work part-time hours (minimum 18.75 hours per week)

Location: Edinburgh or Glasgow (Initially home based with travel throughout Scotland)

The Healthcare Staffing Programme has a requirement for an Information Systems Consultant to take a Lead role in the design and development of leading-edge models and methodology for measuring workload and workforce activities, data exploitation and systems for extracting, analysing and benchmarking workload and workforce data and quality data to inform improvement in workload and workforce planning, collaborating with leading national and international organisations in this field and working closely with NHS Boards to support implementation of change.

This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of the Health & Care (Staffing) (Scotland) Act 2019 and influence policy and strategy relevant to the field of expertise through research into leading edge theory, best practice and effective stakeholder consultation at a national level, to ensure the continuous development and improvement of digital solutions for workload and workforce planning.  The key outcome of this work is to enable workforce decisions that will ensure that at all times, suitably qualified and competent individuals from a range of professional disciplines, are working in such numbers as are appropriate for the health, wellbeing and safety of patients or service users, and the provision of high-quality health care for individuals across Scotland.

We are looking for an individual with expert knowledge and technical expertise in data analysis and interpretation as well as systems design in the context of workload and workforce data analytics, quality indicators and improvement science.  In addition, the individual must possess the ability to influence and collaborate with a range of different stakeholders with demonstrable experience in establishing and maintaining strong strategic and operational working relationships.
