Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our busy Critical Care Unit for a full time Housekeeper (part-time hours will also be considered).

Our Unit is working across two locations in ARI – ward 201 and 106b and is a fast paced environment which is constantly changing, admitting around 100 patients each month. We are currently looking for a Housekeeper to join our Critical Care staff team who work closely together to look after a wide variety of critically ill patients and their families. So, If you are caring, motivated, keen to learn and develop new skills working within Critical Care, and looking for a new challenge, then we would like to hear from you.

The post holder will work alongside our Senior House Keeper to coordinate a range of activities to assist in maintaining the Unit as a safe and clean working environment for both patients and staff.  The role will include ensuring the Unit is kept clean, tidy and well stocked, and all aspects of the ward housekeeping are in order. Being involved in local audit and ensuring the safety of a range of equipment will also be part of your role.  You may also be required to provide personal care to patients including transporting them within the site, and assist the staff to clean and set up bed spaces to help ensure the unit is ready to receive any new admissions.

Educational opportunities will be available to all new staff, and ongoing support will be provided by our Divisional Practice Education colleagues, and our staff team.  You will be required to work predominantly Monday to Friday dayshift, but may be asked to change shifts to support the needs of the Unit during periods of increased clinical activity.

If you would like more information or wish to arrange an informal visit to the Unit, please contact either the SCN or Senior Staff Nurse on duty on 01224 553022.

The closing date for applications is 27/05/22
