We have an exciting opportunity to join the Diabetes Psychology Service. This post will provide a broad and exciting role for the successful candidate.
The role is designed to help our organisation respond effectively to Scottish Government aspirations in the areas of prevention and early intervention in Type 2 diabetes.
The main aspects of the role are to:
- Conduct assessments and deliver psychological therapy based on ACT and CBT / health behaviour change approaches to improve self-management, quality of life and emotional wellbeing in people with or at high risk of Type 2 diabetes.
- Participate in the robust evaluation of the services you provide, including collection of data, analysis and writing any reports or articles.
- Contribute to discussions and decisions about how best interventions and services can be improved and redesigned to maximise our outcomes.
- Participate in the wider activity of the Department of Clinical Health Psychology and Acute Sector Psychology.
This is an exciting time to join us. Our senior management have recognised the substantial role that our profession can play in helping deliver strategic objectives including in the area of diabetes. This has led to significant investment in psychology.
The successful candidate would join a small, friendly and supportive team that consists of clinical and health psychologists, CAAPs, trainee psychologists and assistant psychologists.
We have excellent research links with the Universities of Aberdeen, Edinburgh and beyond. Our Acute Sector Psychology staff have expertise in specific treatment modalities, improvement science, innovation, teaching and training, research and leadership, and are well placed to help you develop a career with us.
