We are pleased to advertise a new Occupational Therapy post within One stop shop in Fife in partnership with Scottish Autism promoting the health, happiness and wellbeing of autistic people and their families. This post is an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist with a knowledge of autism and mental health experience to take part in a one year test of change. The Occupational Therapist will:
• Provide timely and proactive mental health support to autistic people and their families/carers
• Enable autistic people to develop and implement strategies for supported self management
• Will work collaboratively with CAMHS, adult mental health and other services to support those who have been referred and are awaiting support
• Improve collaboration between mental health professionals and services and autism specific supports
• Apply evidence based OT knowledge, skills and experience to support autistic people to improve their function and engage with their environments e.g community, education, employment
This is an exciting role for an individual who is passionate about improving the lives and outcomes for autistic people experiencing mental health issues as well as their family/carers.
You will work with the team at One stop shop and be professionally managed and supervised by an experienced occupational therapy manager. You will ensure that people receive specialist Occupational Therapy assessments as well as other evidence based interventions. You will be expected to work autonomously, being able to manage and prioritise the many clinical, leadership and non clinical demands placed on you. This post also offers an exciting opportunity for you to take a key role in supporting service improvement and development work within a third sector organisation. You will required to be able to work flexibly to meet the demands of the client group.
The Mental Health Occupational Therapy Service is committed to personal development through the provision of protected CPD time, in-service training and a comprehensive induction programme. The Occupational Therapy Service uses a College of Occupational Therapists endorsed clinical supervision training programme and the AHP Mental Health Advanced Practitioner Framework, all of which are recorded and reviewed through the TURAS Appraisal system.
