An opportunity has arisen within NHS Education for Scotland (NES) to apply for the post of Specialist Lead (Practice Management & Receptionist Training) with the Dental Care Professional (DCP) Workstream.
The DCP workstream provides a range of education provision which includes pre and post registration training for dental nurses, orthodontic therapists, practice managers and receptionists.
About the role
We are looking for a Specialist Lead to provide leadership and specialist input for the delivery of educational programmes to support the Practice Managers’ and Receptionists’ Workforce across NHSScotland.
The purpose of this role is to be responsible for the planning, design, delivery, assessment and quality assurance of the Practice Management and Receptionist training programmes provided by the DCP workstream. These programmes lead to qualifications awarded by the SQA. PDA Oral Health Care: Dental Managers SCQF level 8 - SQA & PDA Dental and Medical Reception Skills SCQF level 6 - SQA. Therefore, the post holder will also be responsible for monitoring and reporting on candidates’ progression and achievement against awarding body requirements.
We are seeking an individual who is an experienced Dental Practice Manager with a sound working knowledge of NHS Dental Primary Care in Scotland. Applicants must have experience of managing NHS dental services and teams, which for example may be within general dental practice and or public dental service.
Experience in designing and delivering education and possession of the SQA Assessor and Internal Verification qualifications would be highly advantageous, however training and support will be provided towards obtaining these.
Applicants must have a relevant subject qualification and a keen interest in education, learning and development. As an effective team player, you will possess excellent organisational, communication and digital skills.
Joining a highly dynamic team within NHS Education for Scotland you will work with the National Workstream Lead, Lead DCP Tutors, team of Dental Tutors, and Business Support Teams, to plan, design and deliver high quality education and training for practice managers and receptionists, ensuring a consistent approach is delivered in all centres, through standardised processes.
