We invite enthusiastic and forward thinking applications for this permanent registered nurse post within community nursing in the Newton Stewart area of Dumfries and Galloway. The post is based in Newton Stewart, temporarily at Newton Stewart Cottage Hospital. The Machars community nursing team covers a wide geographic area including the town of Newton Stewart and rural outlying communities such as Whithorn, Port William and Glentrool. The role involves 24/7 shift work including nights, where the RN and a HCSW cover the Wigtownshire area, so includes a lot of driving. Community health and social care is undergoing transformation in Dumfries and Galloway and community nursing will sit within a newly developed Home Team with other professions. There may be the occasional need if the service need arises, to travel to other areas of the region to support community nursing where needed. This is an exciting time to be part of community nursing as role are transforming and, although experience of community nursing would be an advantage applications are also invited from newly qualified staff as there will be guidance provided within this high performing and supportive team.

INTERNATIONAL NURSES
NHS Dumfries & Galloway can support OSCE Training for international nurses for vacancies based at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary or Mountainhall Treatment Centre Community Ward 1 for those who have completed CBT and English language. The following should be highlighted in your application: ~ Evidence of CBT completion date ~ Results of an English language test via IELTS or OET ~ Evidence of starting NMC registration If your application is progressed, documented evidence will be required.
