Band 6 Specialist Paediatric Dietitian

1.0WTE (Permanent)​​​​​​​

Royal Hospital for Children & Young People, Edinburgh is a tertiary paediatric centre, providing specialist services across Scotland. The department of dietetics support patients and families across the care continuum supporting local, regional as well as national paediatric services and pathways.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team. This band 6 role will work within our acute inpatient service supporting several specialist areas, including critical care, respiratory medicine/cystic fibrosis and oncology.

The successful applicant will be a respected member of the team providing care to infants, children and their families. They will support the delivery of a comprehensive, high quality and effective service providing highly specialist advice, education and support.

Applicants will have a relevant qualification in dietetics or equivalent, and be registered with the HCPC. Post graduate training in paediatric dietetics is desirable, but not essential and applicants with appropriate transferrable skills will be considered for interview.

There will be a requirement to manage and support more junior members of staff, and participate in student training (A, B and C placements). Training and support for CPD, with annual appraisals, peer support and training opportunities to further develop specialist clinical skills is encouraged within the team.
