An exciting fixed term or secondment opportunity has arisen for a Senior Biomedical Scientist in the Reproductive Medicine Laboratory (RML) based in the Edinburgh Fertility Centre.
This is a fixed term post for 12 months. Normal working hours will be Monday to Friday, 8am until 4pm but there may be the requirement to work during weekends.
Applications are invited from HCPC registered Biomedical Scientists or Clinical Scientist with laboratory experience in andrology and extensive knowledge and experience working in a UKAS accredited diagnostic laboratory as well as experience in a supervisory/management role. A good working knowledge of ISO 15189 standards and HFEA regulatory requirements are essential. Practical experience in clinical andrology processes (semen cryopreservation, sperm preparation for IUI/IVF/ICSI, SSRs and sperm donor recruitment) would be an advantage. This role is to supervise the day-to-day scientific and clinical activities within the RML, providing line management to other scientific and support staff within the RML. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the diagnostic and clinical laboratory processes as well as undertake managerial and performance related tasks.
