As a Clinical Nurse Specialist Band 6 managing patients with headache and associated symptoms, you are required to have had significant relevant experience working within the Neurology Service and have the knowledge and skill set to competently perform the necessary technical/invasive/physical aspects of care for this defined patient group, previous nurse specialist experience would be advantageous. As part of a clinical team under the leadership and supervision of the Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist (Band 7), you will be responsible for the delivery of a high-quality in- patient and outpatient clinic service, targeted patient groups including pre-treatment counselling and screening, monitoring of therapy/clinical response, urgent intervention and admission avoidance consultations. You must have the ability to work independently and possess excellent communication skills to manage the collaborative telephone advice lines / triage of incoming calls, in- patient referrals, interface with hospital clinicians and general practitioners, delivery of clinical support with a high level of IT skills. As part of a Service development, you will have the supported to specifically focus on the delivery of new and advancing treatments such as nerve Blocks and Botox therapy. You will work closely with other Headache CNS`s and Neurology CNS team members across the directorate to support the existing service where necessary. The shift pattern for this post is Monday - Friday. It is essential that you are currently a Registered Adult Nurse with the NMC with significant post registration experience (Desirable) within the relevant specialty. Experience in delivering botulin toxin for chronic migraine is desirable.

You would be required to have a minimum of 5 years post registration experience.

It is essential that you are currently a Registered Adult Nurse with the NMC as holding current full professional registration is an essential requirement for the post, candidates who do not complete the professional registration section of the application form or who do not hold current full registration may not be considered for shortlisting. This post requires membership of Disclosure Scotland's PVG Scheme.
