Medicine at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital have exciting opportunities available to join our Nursing team across all our speciality ward areas.

Our Respiratory wards provide regional services for our Cystic Fibrosis and Pulmonary Hypertension patients amongst others. We offer specialist therapies which include BiPAP, HFNC NIV, and FloLan. Our Nursing team includes Clinical Nurse Specialists in Lung Cancer, pulmonary hypertension, cystic fibrosis, long term ventilation, and early supportive discharge of asthma and COPD.

Our Cardiology wards work closely with CCU and the Golden Jubilee National Hospital. 6C offers cardiac telemetry monitoring for our Hospital site. Are Cardiology nursing team also includes Advanced Nurse Practitioners.

In Gastroenterology you will work with a large team of specialist including CNS in Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Liver specialist, and close link with the ERI liver transplant services.

We have two Endocrine wards who support a variety of endocrine patients. Specialists in diabetic support, they provide technical care and support for this patient group supported by a CNS team.

We also provide inpatient services for Infectious Diseases for NHS GGC. Working within team ID you will look after a variety of patients: some requiring complex antibiotic therapy, some requiring care for BBVs, and also providing specialist care for COVID. You will undergo specialist training in High Consequence Infectious Disease care and will form part of our team who care for Viral Haemorrhagic Fevers. Our Hospital has a well-established OPAT service and we also work closely with a large group of Nurse Specialists at our Brownlee Centre providing modern community based care for a wide range of patients.   

We also have vacancies in our Rheumatology and General Medical wards. Our Rheumatology services also have their own CNS and work closely with our Day Medical wards at QEUH and Gartnavel sites.

We are looking for a forward thinking individuals to join a team of established nurses, advanced practitioners, AHPs, and clinicians. Applicants for this role will have a keen interest in caring for acutely unwell patients combined with developing specialist knowledge in our speciality areas.

We strive for clinical personal development with career development opportunities. You will be fully supported by SCN and Clinical Nurse Educator to tailor learning opportunities to your needs within the ward and service.

You should be enthusiastic, dynamic and self-motivated with a real interest in this specialty. We are looking for excellent team players with good written and oral communication skills, fast-thinking and keen to learn.
