Custody Health Nurse Practitioner / Emergency Nurse Practitioner Band 6 various hours Permanent

We are looking for an exceptional candidate to join us in working in the Elgin Custody Suite and Dr Gray’s Hospital Emergency Department. This joint role providing both Custody and Emergency Care is unique to Moray offering the right candidate a varied but rewarding career pathway.
Custody - Guide the patient’s journey from presentation at the Police Custody Settings service in taking a history of signs and symptoms, performing a clinical examination and providing the relevant care and required intervention in response to the patient’s physical, mental and emotional needs or referring the patient to a medical practitioner or other healthcare service as and when the patient’s condition or circumstance requires.
Emergency Department – working as a key member of the Emergency Department team the Emergency Nurse Practitioner will practice as an autonomous practitioner, who without referring to a doctor, independently assess, diagnoses, treats, discharges and/or refers directly to other medical specialities. The post holder is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of high quality nursing care programme without supervision. The post holder will function effectively in the Emergency Department.
The post holder will work internal rotation working night shifts, weekends and unsocial hours.
You should possess sound clinical knowledge, be able to demonstrate a wide range of clinical skills-including the ability to offer interventions, advice and delivery of safe, effective care. You should possess good interpersonal skills and a commitment to joint working. Minor Injuries and Non Medical Prescribing desirable.
Training and development opportunities will be available to the right candidates.
You must be able to demonstrate a commitment to continuing professional development, be highly organised and have good IT skills.
