Band 8a (£50,965 - £55,016) Highly Specialised Clinical Pharmacist (Neonatology and Maternity) plus Highly Specialised Clinical Pharmacist (Paediatrics).
We are looking for an ambitious and motivated pharmacist or pharmacists to join our Acute Pharmacy Team within Women and Children’s services. The post will be based at the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital (RACH) and clinical work will be within Maternity and Neonatal services within the Aberdeen Maternity Hospital (AMH) and also within RACH.
This full time post (or two posts on a part time basis) will work closely with the existing maternity and neonatal pharmacist to ensure consistent and high quality pharmaceutical care to neonates and to maternity patients. In addition the other half of the role will be within the paediatric service working closely with colleagues in RACH with a focus on providing highly specialised pharmaceutical care within paediatric cancer services.
The Neonatal Unit and Maternity services are based in the Aberdeen Maternity Hospital (AMH) and in 2023 the new Baird Family Hospital which is a new purpose built facility is due to open on the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary site and will replace the AMH. When this opens Fertility services, Gynaecology and Breast services will also move into the Baird expanding the role and remit of this post and wider the pharmacy team. Paediatric services and the base for the pharmacy team is within RACH, this will be linked directly to the Baird Family Hospital when complete.
You will be an experienced clinical pharmacist with good clinical knowledge and able to work effectively as part of a team in a multidisciplinary environment. You will also be required to take an active role in the supervision and training of staff and students, to act as a role model and to participate in audit and research.
We invite applications from those wishing to work on a full time basis and those who may wish to work on a part time basis 2-3 days per week taking on Neonatal and Maternity or the Paediatric role.
This role includes a commitment to weekend working and a small commitment to supporting the onsite RACH Pharmacy dispensary.
