Specialist Palliative Care Chaplain (Part time) or Trainee
SAH Band 6 Fully qualified scale £15.59 - £20.88 per hour
Band 5/6 Trainee scale £13.09 - £20.88 per hour
As a member of the Patient & Family Support Team the post holder will be pro-active in attending to the complex pastoral, spiritual and religious needs of all patients, families and carers, ensuring that all care is patient led and focused on the needs of the individual.
Band 6 SPC Chaplain:
Applicants will hold a degree in theology or in another relevant healthcare discipline and be able to demonstrate advanced communication skills. Proven pastoral experience and a flexible approach to working hours are essential as is a keen interest in Palliative and End of Life Care.
Band 5/6 SPC Trainee Chaplain:
To be graded band 6 full qualification is required, for the Trainee programme it is a two year training post leading to SAH Band 6 appointment as a Specialist Palliative Care Chaplain on successful completion of a PG Certification in Hospital Chaplaincy.
This modern Specialist Palliative Care Unit provides care for up to 120 people each week through In-patient, Outpatient Services and Compassionate Lanarkshire. In addition we offer an extensive training programme and Bereavement Support.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, committed individual to join our multi-disciplinary team.
Applicants are required to register with the UKBHC as a Trainee Chaplain and be prepared to undertake the University of Glasgow Healthcare Chaplaincy PG Certificate over two years part time (Funded by St Andrew’s Hospice)
