Due to the retirement of the existing post-holder, an opportunity has arisen to join an integrated occupational health and safety service working in NHS Lothian with c 26 000 staff serving a population of >900 000 in the south-east of Scotland.
You will relish the opportunity to join and lead an existing team of health and safety professionals and work with a multi-disciplinary team including occupational health physiotherapists, nurses and doctors, a manual handling team, staff counsellors, all with full administrative support to improve patient care.
The role is principally Monday to Friday based in the Board headquarters in the centre of Edinburgh.
You will already be an established chartered health and safety practitioner with a successful track record in health and safety management, and the development of colleagues. This will be based on your comprehensive knowledge in this area and your ability to work autonomously but in collaboration with a wide group of stakeholders. You will be able to communicate this effectively.
The main responsibilities of the role are to be the lead for health and safety for the organisation, lead the health and safety team, and work effectively with colleagues and external bodies.
