OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

Band 6: £33,072 - £40,736

37.5 hours per week – Full time, Permanent

An opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist with experience of working with older adults with mental health problems including dementia. This is to join our small and friendly community mental health service which works across the area of Badenoch and Strathspey and Nairn. Your work will include specialist OT assessments and interventions for older adults experiencing mental health problems. These specific standardised assessments and functional assessments and interventions are in order to maximise independence and quality of life for this client group and their carers. You will deliver therapeutic and supportive interventions for clients and carers. Experience in forms of groupwork such as Cognitive Stimulation Therapy would be desirable as this is an area that our team is keen to develop.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be flexible and innovative and will have had previous experience of working closely with older adults. This role will involve driving so a driving licence and access to a car is required however you will be able to apply for a lease car. A relocation package may be available for the right candidate.
