We are seeking 2 motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join the Glasgow city’s Northwest locality Health Improvement Team as a Health Improvement Senior. They will have responsibility for a range of health improvement programmes with the overall aim of improving health and reducing health inequalities in line with the HSCP strategic plan and other locally and nationally identified priorities. The post-holders will work within the HSCP and key partner agencies to contribute to the development and implementation plans for a range of health improvement work streams. One post will be within Stream B which has responsibility for a portfolio which primarily covers early years and child health & parenting programmes. The other post will be within stream D which has responsibility for a portfolio which includes place-based working, mental health, addictions & equalities. Both of these portfolios may change over time. Candidates will be asked at interview if they have a preference for either post. (Candidates should meet the range of public health skills/competencies outlined in the job description.)
The successful applicants will demonstrate a commitment to improving health and reducing inequalities. Educated to degree level (preferably with a relevant post-graduate qualification), the post holders should have health improvement/public health experience, partnership working, project planning and project management, operational management, They should have a good understanding of public health priorities and health inequalities. The post holders are expected to fulfil the Standards for Public Health Practice (Health improvement) at a Foundation-Core level.
