Exciting opportunity has arisen for a secondment placement within PICU for Band 5 Staff Nurses. Previous PICU experience desirable although not essential as training will be offered to successful candidates. Critical Care is a 22-bedded unit caring for a variety of patients including emergency and elective surgery, cardiac services, orthopaedics, trauma, general medical, oncology, ENT, neurology and neurosurgery, and plastic surgery with responsibility for lead service provision throughout Scotland, and referrals from other centres and Europe.
As part of a multidisciplinary team, the post holder will have responsibility for assessment of care needs and the development of programmes of care, and/or the implementation and evaluation for these programmes, ensuring the delivery of high quality care to patients. MINIMUM REQ.
Part 8 or 15 on NMC register. Part 1 on NMC register must be competent in looking after adult ICU patients. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential to become part of the Multi Disciplinary Team.
Candidates must be educated at Degree level with child or adult branch and have an interest in critical care nursing.
The shift pattern for this role is rotational Day, Night and Weekends, Public holidays
