An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit highly motivated nurses to undertake a Postgraduate diploma in Health Visiting. You are required to be registered on part 1 or 2 of the NMC register and possess a first degree as part of the admission criteria for the programme of learning.  Practical assessment and academic learning are carried out by staff from University of West of Scotland and the Health and Social Care Partnerships. 

You will be supported to attend the UWS Health Visiting course on a full time one year basis which commences September 2022. You will be employed on a 30 hours/week basis with NHS Ayrshire and Arran. Annexe 21 conditions will apply.

During this period successful you will be employed as Health Visitor Students, it is important to note that as a full time student attendance at university and all holidays will be set by the University, Practice placements will be arranged in various locations across East Ayrshire Universal Early Years’ Service with Practice Teachers or Health Visitor mentors.

There will also be an expectation that following successful completion you will take up employment in East Ayrshire in a 30 – 37.5 hour Health Visitor post, base location to be identified.

You must be a 1st level registered nurse (or midwife) with excellent communication skills, the academic study commitment, and ability to be flexible and work within a large team

Competitive entry requirements will include the need for a written assignment, presentation and interview.
