An opportunity has arisen to join our dedicated team of Support Services staff within the Catering Department. We are currently looking to recruit a Retail Catering Supervisor to work within Victoria Hospital and Whyteman’s Brae Hospital to provide high standard catering services to both visitors and staff within Retail Services. You will be part of the team to provide staff and visitor meals within the Staff Dining Room and Grab and Go coffee shop within Victoria Hospital and the coffee shop within Whyteman’s Brae hospital, and also the provision of hospitality.
Previous experience of working within large scale catering and a working knowledge of HACCP, allergen controls and food safety requirements is essential for this role. You will have strong emphasis on health and safety and the drive to take catering retail services further with new initiatives. You will also have food merchandising experience in a retail setting, proven leadership abilities and excellent communication and IT skills.
The primary role is to maintain a high standard of food service provision and housekeeping within our catering retail outlets, together with the first line supervision of staff, planning rotas and conducting staff appraisal meetings giving constructive and honest feedback.
You will have:
Previous supervisory experience in a fast paced environment.
Excellent knowledge of food hygiene regulations and HACCP
Demonstrate a can do attitude
Excellent communication and customer care skills.
Ensure that the team is directed in a friendly and efficient manner and have good communication and organisational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritise workloads.
This hours for this post is 37.5 per week worked any 5 days from 7 and may include weekend working.
