An opportunity has arisen for a forward-thinking nurse to join the HIV Service.
Working across Tayside, you will be responsible for the assessment and care of individuals who are living with HIV. The team are based within Ninewells Hospital in Dundee however also deliver clinics across Angus, Perth and Kinross.
The team offers holistic healthcare to people living with HIV throughout their life; providing treatment, prevention and wellbeing advice, sexual health screening, and general health advice.
You will review service users who attend clinics across Tayside, acting as a source of expertise, and provide advice to service users, carers, other agencies and professionals. You will also support training and education.
You should be a reflective practitioner, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to support patients living with HIV with empathy and kindness. You should have an awareness of the LGBT+ community, and a working knowledge of supporting individuals that have experienced racism and stigma with a willingness to undergo further training. You should also be able to demonstrate an ability to learn, be able to use your initiative and have a flexible working approach.
Candidates should be registered on Sub Part 1 of the NMC Register, entry code RN1/RNA. Experience of working in a related field such as infectious disease or sexual and reproductive health is desirable. Knowledge of blood borne viruses, HIV, substance misuse, long term health conditions and sexual and reproductive health would be an advantage. Experience of phlebotomy and immunisation training is desirable. Candidates should demonstrate evidence of continued professional development.

Hours of work are: 24 hours per week. This is a fixed term post for 23 months
