An opportunity has arisen for a programme manager to join the adverse events team, which forms part of the Quality Assurance Directorate within Healthcare Improvement Scotland. There are 2 key areas of focus for the programme which requires an experienced individual with excellent programme management skills.
HIS has agreed to work with NHS boards and other stakeholders to support the establishment of an agreed national approach to standardising all aspects of incident reporting. The post holder will have a responsibility for the design, development and implementation of a harmonised coding set that will deliver consistent reporting of patient safety concerns and adverse events across NHS Scotland. The post holder therefore must be a competent IT user with a keen eye for detail and an excellent understanding of how an effective coding set can capture the highest quality safety data. Experience of using the DATIX system or related technologies is desirable.
In addition to this, the post holder will work with the adverse events network and other stakeholders to explore options for an improved adverse event notification system through refining the use of existing systems and technology.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and positive individual who has excellent communication skills and the ability to connect with a wide range of stakeholders from across various sectors.
Candidates are required to be educated to degree level or have equivalent knowledge and experience in improving services in health and social care. It is essential you that you have strong communication and interpersonal skills as you will be required to connect people across the system to deliver this work.
