An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Physiotherapist to join the team of allied health professionals working within the Major Trauma Service at the Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh. The post holder will deliver physiotherapy assessment and intensive rehabilitation to patients who have suffered complex polytrauma on the dedicated Major Trauma Ward. The ward is based at the Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh which is the Major Trauma Centre for the South East region of the Scottish Trauma Network.

Candidates must be highly motivated, dynamic and enthusiastic about delivering high quality, concentrated rehabilitation to patients following major trauma in a safe and supportive environment.

Candidates must display evidence of clinical experience of work in a wide variety of core Band 5 rotations, as well as showing particular interest and experience in major trauma or a relevant clinical subspecialty. Ability to prioritise and discharge plan for a wide range of presentations is essential, as is clarity of communication and well-demonstrated organisational skills. Experience of supervision, mentorship and appraisal of other staff members / students is essential. You will be expected to contribute to a 5/7 working pattern and the out of hours/on call service.

The range of conditions and specialities encountered, and requirement for excellence in clinical reasoning and team working in this post at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh will allow the successful candidate to gain extensive and in-depth experience as a band 6 physiotherapist.

Physiotherapy Services support staff development through appraisal processes, supervision and CPD opportunities.
