The post holder will provide comprehensive administrative support to a team of clinicians, enabling clinicians to operate effectively and efficiently.  Work in accordance with standard operating procedures. The post holder will need a high degree of administration skills as covering multiple sites.

 Knowledge and Experience


Requires knowledge of a full range of secretarial procedures

Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint

Requires extensive office and audio-typing experience

Requires to develop an understanding of medical terminology

Analytical and Judgemental Skills

Requires to exercise judgements when dealing with patient enquiries

Requires to interpret, prioritise and resolve patient problems

Planning and Organisational Skills

Plans and prioritises own work patterns and time

Organises Consultant and nurse clinics including reallocating cancellations

Ensures effective clinic organisation including preparation, compilation, storage and, retrieval of clinical records in paper and electronic format

Organising and maintaining departmental filing and retrieval systems

Makes arrangements for training events and meetings

Physical skills

Advanced keyboard skills

Audio-typing skills ​​​​​​​
