A very rare and highly sought-after opportunity has now arisen to appoint our new Senior Charge Nurse / Dermatology Lead CNS across NHS Lanarkshire. The successful post holder will be based at the University Hospital Monklands site but will provide leadership and clinical oversight across all three acute sites within NHS Lanarkshire.
The successful applicant will have extensive experience in Dermatology practice and will be an experienced Senior Nursing Clinician with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the specialty.
The post holder carries 24 hours continuing responsibility for the NHS Lanarkshire Dermatology service and will provide clinical leadership to the nursing team to:
Ensure safe and effective clinical practice
Enhance the patient's experience of care
Manage and develop the performance of the team
Contribute to the delivery of the organization’s objectives
Ensure Healthcare-Associated Infections and key performance indicators are applied to all ward teams.
Support staff through a post-pandemic phase of healthcare
The post holder is the line manager for the nursing team and has responsibility for registered and unregistered staff within the ward/department and has responsibility for ensuring that standards of practice are maintained, reviewed, and continuously, developed and that staff deliver safe, effective, patient-centered, efficient, timely and equitable care within their scope of practice as part of the healthcare team
Contributing to the management of the ward/department budget by ensuring effective use of physical, human, and financial resources e.g. the nursing/midwifery resource and supplies including pharmaceutical supplies and equipment
The professional development and line management of the nursing/midwifery team which encompasses both registered and support staff
Creating an environment in which effective learning can take place by supporting in-house practice education within the unit
Coordinating the involvement of the multidisciplinary team within designated areas. Ensure standards are met, maintained and monitored, and regularly linked with the Clinical Governance structure.
