Job Advert
We are delighted to share that due to the further development and expansion of the Community Independent Living Services, we are able to offer a permanent post for a Band 6 Physiotherapist. This post will be within the adult Community Rehabilitation Team.
Dundee is a dynamic, vibrant city famous for being UNESCO city of design and home to the V&A. It has great transport links and is in the perfect location for visiting Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow whilst also benefiting from being on the beautiful east coastline.
We are looking for a forward thinking individual who can provide Physiotherapy assessment and rehabilitation, and contribute to discharge planning and onward referral. You will work with an interdisciplinary team providing therapy interventions and support to adults within the community. This may include a range of conditions such as orthopaedic and neurological conditions, vascular, amputations, rheumatology conditions, acute respiratory conditions, and Falls. We fully support undergraduate Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy training programmes and regularly accept students on practice placements from Scottish and International Universities.
Dundee is home to a large physiotherapy service across multiple acute, rehabilitation and community hub sites which allows for regular learning and training opportunities from a progressive and highly skilled work force. As an integrated service we also work closely with other sectors and agencies, offering a broad range of experiences and enhancement of knowledge.
This is a wonderful opportunity to work as part of a friendly, supportive team of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists that work very closely with the wider MDT. This is an exciting prospect for a therapist who wishes to broaden their clinical experience, with the chance to assist in supporting change and development within the team as well as the service as a whole. The post holder will be fully supported by senior staff, with supervision, appraisal and personal development through regular CPD opportunities.
Currently there is no weekend working at Community rehabilitation, however, in line with the evidence base and the strategic direction of NHS Tayside, the Allied Health Professions may be moving towards 7 day working. This is for improved patient outcomes and to maximise a person-centred equitable approach to care. Therefore all new contracts for AHP staff will be for a 5 out of 7 days service / rota to enable the service to be ready to potentially move to a safe and effective 7 day service. Hours of work are: 37.5 per week (full time).
