We are looking for a Fixed term 18 month  Band 7  Experienced health professional to join and lead the existing Autism assessment and diagnosis  team based at Skylark child development centre.

The post will be split into clinical assessment and diagnosis sessions alongside project management with the aim of redesign and the development of Autism pathway and process to align with Scottish Government strategy, Board policy and Local needs to improve service access and experience.

Therefore you will need to be passionate about Autism as well as being an experienced assessment and diagnosis clinician with an interest in project management and continuous service improvement. It is essential that you are currently a Registered Nurse with the NMC or with the HCPC as an Occupational Therapist and have relevant post registration experience of working with children and  young people (and their families/carers) with Autism. Candidates must have an ability to work independently using own initiative and without direct supervision. You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and team working skills and demonstrates a positive attitude towards children and young people alongside an understanding of children and young people’s Neuro-developmental health needs.

You must demonstrate an understanding of family, community, and social systems. You must have theoretical knowledge and experience of delivering psychological interventions to a high standard. You must demonstrate that evidence based practice is at the core of your work.  You should be highly organized and have the ability to function competently as a member of the multi-disciplinary team. You should be highly knowledgeable of factors which impact on mental health and emotional well-being as well as the impact of Autism across the spectrum and impact on families, social care and education. You must be able to conceptualize vulnerability, including risk factors and intervene to build resilience. You must demonstrate an ability/willingness to commit to personal and professional development. As a Band 7 health practitioner  you will be in a senior role and be expected to support the development and management of junior staff and students. You will be expected to undertake management tasks delegated by Service Manager in relation to this service area.  As part of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s pre employment checking for all appointed candidates, evidence of current professional registration will be required prior to start date . The shift pattern for this post is Monday - Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm (can be flexible)
