SPECIALIST CHILDREN'S SERVICES
We are looking for a motivated, dynamic, experienced registered nurse to join our Community Nursing Team to assist with the diagnosis and support for children and families affected by Autism. The job entails assessment of children with Autism, providing parental support and signposting, supporting junior members of the team and participating in the multi-disciplinary team joint assessment to provide individualised care to the child and family. We work closely with our multi-disciplinary team colleagues including Paediatricians and AHP’s, and also with other disciplines such as HVs, GPs, school nurses and third sector. First level registration with NMC, educated to degree level and a car driver are essential. You will also need to have experience working with and supporting families affected by a neurodevelopmental condition such as Autism. Experience working with children and or community would be desirable. You will be a key member of our team and should be able to demonstrate excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills and have the ability to critically evaluate information and recording it in a concise and accurate manner. The post holder should have the ability to evidence good organisational skills and be adept at prioritising and working flexibly often to a tight deadline. In return, you will be well supported to further your own professional knowledge, skills and development within this highly specialised area.
