The post holder will work closely with the Head of FM Operations to coordinate, manage and implement all aspects of Facilities Management by providing strategic direction and professional and technical leadership across clinical and non clinical services within the Sector. 

The post holder will work mainly at Sector and Directorate Level, but may on occasion be asked to represent NHSGG&C on a range of Facilities Management Projects at Board or national level and contribute in conjunction with Senior NHS and Health Facilities Scotland staff to develop pan-Scotland strategies and Policies.

The post holder will work with and develop synergies with and other disciplines within the Directorate and the Board. 
 
The post holder will assist the Head of FM Operations in ensuring national and statutory requirements and for maintaining all aspects of statutory compliance at Sector level. 

The focus of the post is on consistent high quality service levels, improved value for money, expenditure management and governance of compliance management, providing clear leadership, mentoring, direction and innovation are essential to the post.

•    This post requires professional expertise combined with specialist knowledge gained within a Facilities Management environment.
•    There is also a requirement to demonstrate project management experience of FM initiatives from inception to completion; financial management and budget controls and leadership skills. 
  
The postholder will be educated to degree level in relevant subject area:  or degree in any subject plus post graduate qualification in relevant subject area.

In addition, this post requires
•    Experience in providing a FM service within large scale complex environments, preferably healthcare
•    Can demonstrate problem solving capability where complexities often include conflicting demands, legislative requirements, health and safety considerations, contract obligations and technical issues. 
•    Experience in supporting the implementation of FM strategy as part of the Facilities management team
