Job Advert

Due to service expansion and staff changes we are looking for dietitians to join our growing team in NHS Forth Valley (FV).  Opportunities are available in both the Eating Disorders and Mental Health teams with the possibility of working across both teams.

The post holders(s) will work as part of a small, supportive team of band 7, and band 6 dietitians, to deliver excellent patient care.  Caseload will be varied including adult eating disorders service, CAHMS and adult mental health services.  The post holder(s) will work closely with other members of the specialist multi-disciplinary team, delivering mainly outpatient clinics and group education sessions within adult and paediatric services.

Experience in eating disorders and /or mental health services is highly desirable, but this is not essential, as training and development will be given with the opportunity to attend in-house and formal training. The post holder must have excellent communication and organisational skills, an ability to deliver high quality education, be committed to personal development and be a strong team player.

The Forth Valley clinical dietetic team is a friendly and proactive team providing inpatient and outpatient services within Forth Valley Royal Hospital, 4 Community Hospitals and within Community Services.  This post will be part of a team of 33 dietitians providing a wide variety of clinical specialities including critical care, renal, stroke, paediatrics, diabetes, IBS, home enteral feeding along with 5 dietetic assistants and an administrative team.  Shadowing and development opportunities exist within these other clinical specialities.

All team members are expected to actively contribute to departmental activities e.g. student training, department meetings and when necessary provide some cover to other parts of the service, including the department duty service.

This post will be based in Stirling Community Hospital, with the potential for some services to be delivered from other NHS Forth Valley sites and for some remote working.  NHS Forth Valley is centrally located in Scotland with good transport links, easy access to major cities and spectacular countryside.
