CONSULTANT GASTROENTEROLOGIST

 (2 POSTS)

We have an exciting opportunity available in one of the UK's most up and coming and rapidly developing cities.  NHS Tayside seeks to appoint two Consultant Gastroenterologists.

These are replacement posts joining our existing team of luminal and liver consultants providing gastroenterology services to the patients of NHS Tayside. The postholders will contribute to the inpatient and outpatient management of the luminal GI team. One post will have an IBD focus whilst the other may allow the accommodation of other specialist interests.

There is a requirement to contribute to the Out of Hours and Weekend GI on call rota but there is no requirement for any acute or general medicine in or out of hours. As such both posts require full competency in therapeutic upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy.

In addition, the successful applicant will be expected to take part in postgraduate training and education along with opportunities to collaborate in research, and quality improvement in keeping with a consultant position in a Teaching Hospital.

Candidates should possess MRCP and be on the GMC Specialist Register in Gastroenterology or be within 6 calendar months of the anticipated award of CCT or already in possession of CESR (CP) at the time of interview for the post.
