We have 4 Clerical Officer roles available between University Hospital Hairmyres, University Hospital Wishaw and University Hospital Monklands, minimum of 25 hours per week and flexible working hours.

The Kickstart Scheme provides 6-month paid employment opportunities for young people offering a mix of work experience and employability skills training. All positions are a minimum of 25 hours a week.
NHS Scotland is supporting the Kickstart Scheme offering a variety of roles paid at the National Living Wage to help you start your employment journey. You will gain work experience and skills training enabling you to develop highly transferrable skills and gain valuable insights into roles and career routes on offer in the NHS.

The Kickstart Programme is now live in NHS Lanarkshire. Our exciting posts will include paid employment for 6mths offering valuable work experience and an extensive programme of education and learning. This will include sessions covering key skills for working effectively in healthcare, self-directed online learning, and a structure to enable you to evidence learning and work towards a certified youth award.
We are committed to helping young people in our local communities secure sustainable long-term employment so will be encouraging post holders who successfully complete their Kickstart experience to consider applying for our Modern Apprenticeship positions.
In this role you will be trained to;
- Undertake general clerical and reception duties
- Taking phone calls and answering simple queries or sharing with the correct person
- Ensure that all telephone enquiries are dealt with appropriately, in a courteous efficient and effective manner
- Accurate data entry into local or national systems
- Have good keyboard and IT systems
- Managing appointment system
- Sharing reports
- Undertake filing duties and maintain appropriate filing systems including shredding of documents
- Use MS Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook and any other IT systems after the appropriate training.
- Ensure confidentiality of staff and/or patient details at all times
- Good communication with staff, patients, colleagues, porters, domestics, etc.
